Faith-Based Brand Development & Author Platform (Work in Progress)

The Challenge

Lynette Muhl was preparing to launch a ministry centered around her personal testimony of surviving sexual abuse and finding healing through Jesus Christ. She needed a website that would not only introduce her upcoming book but also establish a compassionate, trustworthy online presence where visitors could learn about her story, connect with her ministry, and access future resources.

The challenge was creating a website that communicated a deeply personal and sensitive message with hope, authenticity, and grace while laying the foundation for future ministry growth.

Objectives

  • Develop a professional author and ministry website

  • Create a cohesive visual identity

  • Communicate a message of hope and healing

  • Build anticipation for the upcoming book release

  • Encourage visitors to connect with the ministry

  • Create a scalable platform for future resources, speaking engagements, and community outreach

My Approach

Working closely with Lynette, I helped shape the visual identity and digital strategy for the ministry.

The website was designed to balance emotional storytelling with a calm, welcoming user experience. Together, we developed messaging that reflected the heart of her ministry while guiding visitors naturally through her story, book information, and opportunities to connect.

As the project evolved, I organized the website structure, designed custom page layouts, created graphics, refined the overall user experience, and built a flexible Squarespace website capable of growing alongside the ministry.

Because the project addresses a sensitive topic, every design decision prioritized trust, compassion, readability, and emotional safety for the visitor.

Design Thinking

When designing websites around trauma recovery, the experience must feel safe, hopeful, and approachable.

Rather than overwhelming visitors with information, I focused on creating a gentle progression through Lynette's story, helping visitors understand the ministry's purpose while providing clear opportunities to learn more, connect, and continue their healing journey.

The design intentionally emphasizes warmth, trust, and clarity, allowing the message to remain the primary focus while supporting future ministry growth.
